Prepare for Palforzia,

Step by Step.

We understand that this is a dynamic time for you as you go through the restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 outbreak. While you adapt, if you are looking for ways to prepare for your child’s peanut allergy treatment, we’ve created a process for you and your allergist. So you can take steps now and get closer to your first day of treatment.

Patient Education

Aimmune is committed to providing you with the information you need to better prepare for treatment – and to ensure that PALFORZIA is right for you and your family.

1
Commitment Consideration

PALFORZIA is administered over a number of months and will require a commitment from the entire family. Now is a good time to discuss as a family the time, energy, and support necessary for PALFORZIA treatment.

Think about what your goals are for peanut allergy treatment.
Ensure you and your child can commit to the office visit and daily dosing regimen.
2
Peanut Allergy Confirmation

Does your allergist have the most current peanut allergy diagnosis and lab information for your child? Please consider the following items before having a follow-up conversation with your allergist.

If the peanut allergy diagnosis was recent, your allergist will have your most recent labs.
If it has been a while since the peanut allergy diagnosis, your allergist may order new tests before you begin PALFORZIA.
If you have switched allergists, fax over the most recent Skin Prick Test (SPT) or IgE labs before your next conversation.
3
Request a Virtual Consultation & Complete REMS Enrollment

Some healthcare providers are offering virtual consultations (video conference or telephone call) while social distancing guidelines are in place. Please contact your physician’s office to ask about this option. If a virtual consultation is available, it is a great time to ask questions, enroll in PALFORZIA REMS (together with your allergist), and start the process.

The PALFORZIA REMS (Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy) Program is a safety program that manages the risk of anaphylaxis associated with PALFORZIA. The PALFORZIA REMS is required by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to ensure the potential benefits of PALFORZIA outweigh its risks. Every patient prescribed PALFORZIA is required to be enrolled in the PALFORZIA REMS. Talk to your health care provider for details on how to enroll in the REMS program.

Contact your allergist to request a virtual consultation.
Before the consultation, prepare a list of questions you’d like to cover, re-read the REMS guidelines at palforziarems.com, and be ready to discuss your family’s commitment.
After REMS enrollment, you will get an email (make sure your allergist has your preferred email) asking to provide your electronic signature, consenting to join the REMS program.
Your allergist writes your prescription using the PALFORZIA Prescription and Enrollment Form. By email, you will get a request for your electronic signature for the pharmacy to process your prescription.
